I HEAR YOU!!

Receiving "The Wisdom of Sundays" Life-Changing Insights from Super Soul Conversations by Oprah Winfrey as a gift has enlightened my life to STEP UP more everyday.

This morning, a morning ritual is to exercise, have my breakfast, listen to a show that makes me laugh, read sections of THE WISDOM of SUNDAYS to start my day. When I read a quote from Oprah this morning, it resonated strongly with me. Why? The answer is because families that connect with me or others who I connect with there is a common theme of frustration. Society is overwhelmed with frustrations, struggles and not feeling heard and understood.

This brings me to the quote "I believe three of the most important words anyone can say are not I love you, but I hear you. " Oprah. Amen to this. I get shivers when people say thank you and I ask what are you thanking me for .....wait... do you know the answer? Yes, they have been heard and someone actually gets their struggle.

Think about this for a moment. How do you feel when you are not heard? If you have been heard, how do you feel? There is a difference. The difference is you took the time to listen and not try fix their problem. You can make a difference in someone's life when you listen and make sure they have been heard. When you feel heard, thank the person as they have given you a gift of their ear and time and you have given a gift of your time and ear. What did it cost either of you NOTHING. The reward is seeing someone smile and feel a little more calm then before and for you. You made a difference to someone's life.
